Snapchat has announced that the app's new 'Director Mode' advanced video creation process is now available to all iOS users.

As shown in this overview, Snap's Director Mode includes a variety of more advanced editing tools within the app, such as green screen, variable playback speed options, improved editing tools, and dual camera controls, which allow you to use the front and back facing cameras simultaneously to create 360 degree content.

Many of these capabilities are accessible in other apps, so it's not a significant functional change (360 mode has only been available on iOS up till now). However, it will be a significant boost for Snap producers in particular, enabling new options to make distinctive clips in the app.

This includes, of course, Spotlight content, Snap's TikTok-clone functionality, which is currently used by over 300 million Snapchatters each month.

Total time spent viewing Spotlight content in the app has also climbed by 55% year on year, and these new features will provide you more possibilities to capitalize on Spotlight's popularity with your own short films.

Director Mode is now available in the app's camera toolbar, or you can access the more advanced editing options by tapping the 'Create' button in Spotlight. According to Snap, Director Mode is currently available to some creators on Android, with a full rollout on the way.
