Snapchat has announced a new AR Lens integration in collaboration with fitness app Strava, allowing users to send dynamic, visual updates of their Strava activities.

As seen above, the new Stava integration offers additional overlay choices, with Strava data then incorporated into your Snap camera display, enabling new kinds of engagement with your fitness progress.

"With a few taps, the Strava Activity Lens allows Snapchatters to take a Snap or post a Story that instantly tells the tale of recent workouts. Whether you're walking around the city with friends or training for your next race, this AR experience helps you better tell the story of every effort on Snapchat."
Strava has more than 100 million registered users, so this new integration will give greater exposure possibilities for Snap's capabilities, which might, critically, aid boost Snap's appeal to older audiences.

Snapchat has traditionally been focused solely on younger demographics, but the company now recognizes the importance of diversifying in order to maximize its prospects.

In line with this, a new relationship with Strava is ideal, giving a complementing aspect for fitness fanatics - who tend to be older users - while also connecting into the Snap Map and highlighting Snap's other interaction elements.

They've stuck around despite Instagram and TikTok, and mostly cater to the US market.
